German Shepherd Pedigrees
The german shepherd pedigrees and papers won't be available when getting a dog from rescues, only through breeders.
Some representatives of the breed may show aggression, especially males toward other males. These dogs need a lot of human companionship that’s why they should never be chained outside, as they will suffer emotionally. They like to play with their owners and children. Actually these are rather healthy dogs though there can be the following health problems: hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, skin allergies, bloat, and spinal myelopathy (incurable paralysis of the hind legs.) Hypothyroidism (low thyroid function) is common in this breed although they usually do not exhibit the traditional symptoms of excess weight, laziness or sluggishness, or coat and skin problems.

Nowadays, these dogs are almost never used for herding sheep. But it was the original task of the breed, which has developed its personality and general look. Only very intelligent and agile dogs could control large herds consisting of 400 to 800 sheep and protect them from predators. To work in cold climates, these dogs have a dense double coat. Being very intelligent and versatile, these dogs have always been suited for a variety of tasks.
